- Download a model On first launch, pick a Whisper model: Tiny (75 MB, fast) or Small (466 MB, accurate). It downloads once and stays on your phone.
- Record Tap the record button and speak. Voxi detects speech automatically and records in segments.
- Get your text Transcription happens on-device after recording. You get timestamped text that you can copy or share.

Which languages does Voxi understand?
Whisper supports dozens of languages including English, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Italian, and many more. The model auto-detects the language being spoken.
How accurate is the transcription?
The Small model provides near-professional accuracy for clear speech. The Tiny model is faster but less accurate — good for notes and drafts. Both work best with clear speech and minimal background noise.
Does it really work without internet?
Yes. The AI model is downloaded once and runs entirely on your phone's processor. After that initial download, Voxi never needs internet again. You can even turn on airplane mode.
How much space does it need?
The app itself is small. The Tiny model takes about 75 MB, the Small model about 466 MB. Recordings are stored as standard audio files.
Will it drain my battery?
Recording uses minimal power. Transcription is CPU-intensive but only runs for a short time after each recording segment. The app does not run in the background.
Is my data safe?
Absolutely. Voxi has no server, no cloud, no analytics. Nothing leaves your phone. The app doesn't even have internet permission after the model is downloaded.
